It's Nisfu Syaaban today! Well, not exactly.

Does anyone knows what is Nisfu Syaaban?

Nisfu Syaaban refers to the fifteenth of Syaaban, which is a month before Ramadhan and the eight month in Islamic calendar. Nisfu itself means half, which means half of the Syaaban. Syaaban is one of the glorious months for Muslims and there are lots of Hadiths about this particular date in Syaaban.

Aishah and I fasted during the day and we thought of going out for dinner just the two of us to celebrate the day. Okay, well- we don't exactly celebrate Nisfu Syaaban but because today was such a wonderful day for both of us, we wanted to end it with great food.

We both DID argue about what and where to have our dinner. After super exhausting but short lmao discussion slash arguments on Halal food, we finally decided to have our dinner at Sixty9 Islamic Steakhouse.

I know. No pun intended.

Sixty9 Islamic Steakhouse is quite recently open for business restaurant specializes in western food. There are variety of dishes to choose from. Let's see what Hana and Aishah had for dinner.

Fish and Chips with Iced Lemon Tea for Hana.
Spaghetti Bolognaise with Iced Lemon Tea for Aishah.

Apparently, Aishah starved for a plate of Spaghetti with meatballs. She is the type of girl who has to eat rice and yet maintains to be so freaking skinny or she will starve again. Since this is steakhouse, I convinced that there won't be any rice served and I was right.

We were starving, don't mind my pouting face

We found the place was very relaxing, suitable for quiet and exclusive dining plan. I was quite impressed by the interior since the restaurant has this quite Western design, neither over the top nor too unclassy. To be honest, though, to me it sort of miss the market target. I mean, Taman Melawati is, pardon me but, middle-class residential area. It's not like Bangsar or Bangi where you can see the residents dining in restaurant and willing enough to pay RM 8 for a glass of Tea O. Pardon me if I'm wrong, but I do have friends who would do that because they live there and they are willing to pay since they said it's 'affordable'. God knows what they would mean 'expensive' then.

Neutella Cheese Tart for our dessert!

We both carved for something sweet and worth our time dessert to properly wrap our dinner. So, Aishah picked this Neutella Cheese Tart and it was DEL-LI-CI-OUS. Truthfully, I am a fan of cheese tart but good lord, I can't handle some bakers put EGGS as the topping. Haine can't handle egg yolks much, she feels nauseous.

After awhile, probably around 8pm, the chef came out of the kitchen and started greeting patrons, asking for their feedbacks.

Being Hana, who is highly confident of her feedback, decided to share her view on the food and whatnot. Hey, we got great chef at our home kitchen aka our mom. Hana was kind enough to points few things, complimented the chef for the amazing presentation of the dishes, the taste and all oh it's all Masterchef thing! and was happy to blog about the experience which is why I'm writing the entry right now!

SO! RATING!

Management and serving: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
The serving was the top. Even though there were not many customers that night, the staff was always there to serve you pronto. Some restaurant employees simply wander around, not bother of asking whether you want a refill or not because too busy whilst there are not many customers at the time. Therefore, it is worth to grant four stars for the amazing service!
The food: ★ ★ ★
They are delicious and SUPER satisfying. You feel full not even after finishing half of the plate. It was crazy, good thing we were fasting during the day. The seasoning hits the mark, neither too over the top nor too off the class. I mean, this is steakhouse we are talking about so the chef must have trying to maintain some sort of level.
Price: ★ ★
Like I have mentioned before, Taman Melawati is a middle-class residential area whereby majority of them would not spend above RM 5 just for a glass of soda drink. However, considering that this IS a steakhouse, then I guess it is legit the price is quite high. For one plate of Spaghetti Bolognaise with a glass of unlimited refill of iced lemon tea, Aishah spent RM 28.80 while I spent RM 27.80 and THAT does not include GST, folks. The dessert costs RM 12.90. I seek for opinions from my friends, other food reviewers and, of course, my family about the price. Most of them agreed that they are quite expensive.
OVERALL: ★ ★ ★

Being a daughter who has been eating western and fast food called A&W since had mastered the art of walking, I would say this is not the best western restaurant I have been in term of price. I have yet to taste the actual steak and I bet THAT will definitely determine the actual rate of this steakhouse. I mean STEAK-HOUSE, man. I must be out of my mind to actually judge and review the restaurant overall potential with just two plates of out-of-main-course dishes!

Insya Allah, I will revisit this amazing restaurant for the real discovery.
